First made an official event in 1990 in Covent Garden. It has grown from a simple celebration of the apple to a recognition of cultural and genetic diversity in food that should not be allowed to pass from the world. There are over 8000 varieties of apples, grown on trees that can live to well over 100 years old. What better way to get prepared and celebrate the humble apple, than through a mixed case of delicious cider from the experts at Dunkertons. Three different sparkling ciders and a delicious, rare Perry – three bottles of each at 50cl (12). Dunkertons help preserve organic apple and pear orchards in Herefordshire with a wide selection of varieties, using up to fourteen of each in their Premium and Black Fox.
