Organic Sauvignon Blanc Wines

Sauvignon Blanc has always been popular in the wines of Sancerre and Touraine from France, but the explosion in popularity of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand has really cemented its place as a leading white grape variety. Chile is also famous for the organic Sauvignon Blanc wines it produces.

The green-skinned grape variety hails from Bordeaux, but is now produced in most of the wine regions of the world. The varietal white wine produced from the grape is crisp, refreshing, and dry. You can find Sauvignon Blanc mixed into some of the dessert wines from Barsac and Sauternes.

The flavours of the conventional and organic Sauvignon Blanc wine wines will range depending on the climate. In climates with lower temperatures such as the Loire Valley in France, the wines tend to be more acidic, with “green” flavours of nettles, bell peppers, and grass, with both floral and tropical notes. In climates with higher temperatures, the fruit notes tend towards the tropical.

It is a wine that pairs beautifully with cheese and fish, as well as sushi. If you want the best Sauvignon Blanc wines, check out the list below…
