Description

Dark in colour with rich fruit forward cassis aromas, and a ripe sumptuous palate of black cherry and herb.

We came across this excellent Gold Medal winning 2020 vintage at Millesime Bio last year and we were lucky to have purchased a parcel. This southern French red is made from a rare old grape varietal called ‘Fer Servadou’. Known for its wilder nature, it produces medium-bodied reds with firm tannins and deep fruit flavours and is sometimes used to add rustic smoky flavours to blends.

A chance to experience Fer Servadou all on its own and in its true glory, this unique rustic red is dark in colour with rich fruit forward cassis aromas. The palate is ripe and smooth, with sumptuous flavours of black cherry, green pepper and wild herbs. Well rounded with soft but firm tannins, it makes for a perfect aperitif and also matches well to grilled meats, fish or vegetables. Located in Languedoc-Roussillon, all of the vines at Domaine du Brau have been grown organically since 1989.
