The Rhône Valley appelation/AOC of Vacqueyras is just south of Gigondas in the Rhône, and is overlooked by the ‘Dentelles de Montmirail’ rocky peaks. Here the stony alluvial soils and glacial terraces of the Riss retain heat and aid the ripening of the Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre grapes. This supple Rhône Valley red is ripe, full and rounded with concentrated framboise notes on both the nose and palate. Instantly attractive, full of energy with super clean elegant fruit, edged with baked herbs. Delicious with hearty foods.
