Meinklang Gruner Veltliner
£15.25
Taste
Herbal and peppery kick, Pink grapefruit with nectarine and apple
Aroma
White stone fruit with a dash of pepper
Description
Gruner Veltliner is an Austrian grape variety that’s made Burgundian Chardonnay’s look positively bland at international competitions, wowed the wine critics and is adored by sommeliers for it’s great food-matching credentials and yet despite all this, not everybody’s heard about it. Well, here’s your chance to see what all the fuss is about. It’s got a lovely, citrus, mineral freshness and a really fun, white pepper pick-me-up finish. Another wine that shows how exciting wines from Austria are.

- 20 Best Vegan Wines, ‘Austrian white-grape variety Gruner Veltliner has some distinctive savoury flavours that pair well with fresh veg dishes. This biodynamic example adds lush-but-crisp green apple and pear.’ David Williams, Observer Food Monthly, April 2018 (2016 vintage)

Love this wine
Since first tasting this wine I’ve explored various gruner veltliners, but none have come close to Meinklang’s. It really stands out.

Love it
I usually try to drink wines that are 12.5% or less, but sometimes they can be a bit thin. This one is only 11.5%, but has bags of flavour. My new favourite wine!
Nicki –
Great
So much flavour, but not much alcohol. Perfect

Superb
Superb white wine, perfect for all occasions. I would give it five stars if I could afford to drink it every day!
