IGP Pays d'Oc Mas des Tannes Rouge (No Added Sulphur)
This 30 ha vineyard (74 acres) in Montagnac prides itself on its privileged setting. It is protected by pine trees and the garrigue and nourished by the mild climate of Mediterranean Sea, which is nearby, and the healthy northern wind. A new No added sulphur red from the quality-focused estate of Paul Mas which for the first time has been made in the "natural" style. Full bodied and chunky with rich brambley fruit and intense spice fruit flavours. A blend of Grenache, Carignan and Mourvèdre.
'A warm blend of carignan, grenache and mourvèdre. This red is a goody for winter.' Victoria Moore, The Daily Telegraph October 2016 (2015 vintage)
87 Points - The Wine Gang, 'A blend of Grenache, Carignan and Mourvèdre with no added sulphur, this bold and fruity organic wine has spice and bramble fruit, and a vinous, savoury quality with plenty of rustic tannin and acidity to give it chewiness and bite. Try with braised lamb shanks and other robust dishes.' August 2016 (2014 vintage)
Les Domaine Paul Mas
Created by owner Jean-Claude Mas with originally just 35 hectares he inherited from his father. Since then the estates have become one of the main, and most well respected in the south of France. His organic vineyards are in the Herault, the wines are very polished and expressive, and certainly towards 'New World' in style.
