Biscuity apricots and clarified butter

Bois Mozé is a charming wine estate located in the commune of Coutures in Anjou. The estate is very atypical for the appellation. In addition to the fact that 3/4 of its vines are present on the hillside overlooking the cellar, Bois Mozé, located in the Anjou region, has all the characteristics of the terroir of the saumurois wines. The soils are clay-limestone, a geological originality that can be explained by the fact that the vines are located on the western edge of the Paris basin, the starting point of the limestone soil. In 2004, Mathilde Giraudet took over the management of the estate, with a real desire to work the vines sustainably and responsibly by placing nature and biodiversity at the centre of this reflection. First labelled Terra Vitis in 2011, we are now an organic vineyard since the 2017 harvest

  1. The flowery description of this wine has (unfortunately, typically) no relation to the tasting experience. It froths impressively in the glass and has a pleasant pink tinge to the colour. That’s it, apsrt from containing alcohol. It is a non-descript fizzy white plonk which is almost flat to the taste but more seriously lacks flavour, depth and finish. Fine if you just want to get inebriated but not worth a third of the price!

  2. Perfect Apéritif, wonderfully light with a delicate fizz. 5 stars from me!
