Stellar Live-a-Little Really Ravishing Red
The dark and intense colour of this wine, belies the fact this Shiraz (with a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon) wine is supple, soft and easy drinking in style. The ripe blackberry and blueberry fruits display a subtle peppery edge, and there is plenty of mellow, yet jammy sweetness on the palate to enjoy. Stellar winery is South Africa's largest producer of organic and fair trade wines, and Vintage Roots was the first to import them into the UK. This Really Ravishing Red is complemented by the cheeky Wildly Wicked White, and these are the entry level 'house' wines of the estate, which certainly over-deliver on quality. Enjoy with pasta or maybe a bean casserole, or just on its own. Room temperature, or just below is perfect. Just remember, we all need to 'live a little'!
Stellar Winery is situated 275 kilometres north of Cape Town on the road to Namibia. It is a joint venture between four farmers and the cellar. The cellar processes about 900 tonnes of organic grapes from farms straddling the northern boundary of the Olifants river wine region and Namaqualand. Working closely with the farms, winemaker Dudley Wilson (ex-Flagstone), produces a great range of wines.
