AOC Coteaux du Languedoc Picpoul de Pinet
Picpoul is the grape here, grown close to the Mediterranean, from where so much of the great seafood originates that this wine complements so well. Pale gold in colour, it's fresh and dry with citrus fruit notes and a pleasing nutty minerality. Increasingly fashionable, and a great alternative to Muscadet.
88 Points - The Wine Gang, 'A superior take on southern French wine du jour Picpoul de Pinet, this adds a lick of salted nut and preserved lemon to the juicy pear flavours - there's something of good Italian Verdicchio about this crisply presented, whistle-clean seafood partner' April 2015 (2014 vintage)
87 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine, 'Refreshing seaside and citrus aromas make it a perfect companion to many seafood dishes' Gillian Sciaretta, November 2015 (2014 vintage)
