Rhône Valley, France
Domaine Jacqueline André- 2016

It's no surprise that this Rhône Valley wine is high-priced--it is, after all, a Châteauneuf-du-Pape, one of the best French wines. Up to 13 different grape varieties can be used to make Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and this one is a blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, and 8% Mourvedre. The remaining 2% is made up of Muscadin, Picpoul, Cinsault, Vaccarese, and Counoise grapes. The vines date back anywhere from 75 to 140 years, giving their fruit a depth and complexity you can't find on young vines. The flavours are beautiful and concentrated, with a very smooth finish.
