With its delicate salmon pink colour, this thrilling rosé surely has one foot firmly in the Provence camp. Grenache, Syrah and Vermentino predominate, providing a delicate, elegant wine with a soft, smooth mouthfeel. The red berried flavours come through and are carried on fresh and crisp balancing acidity. A rosé with flair and finesse, that will please all that try it.
Chateau Rousett is located up in the hills of ‘Alpes de Haute Provence’ and has been run by the same family since 1825. The estate and Château have quite a history, from silkworms, to sheep farm and then in the 1950s vines were planted thank goodness! The vines have been organic for over five years now, and this, coupled with their special and unique location on the geologically significant Valensole plateau, helps them to make stunningly expressive wines. Varietals that flourish in the lower Rhône and Provence are focused on, including Viognier, Syrah and Vermentino.
