St Nicholas de Bourgueil is a subregion of Bourgueil in the Loire Valley that produces particularly delicate, aromatic wines. This is a stunning biodynamic red from the sixth generation Amirault family, who have nurtured this estate for over 180 years. From 100% Cabernet Franc from older vines, this is a captivating wine of delicate freshness and lighter body. A real soft red fruit charmer – delicious earthy notes mingle with soft cherry, black fruits and a touch of herbaceous that Cabernet Franc is known for.
The Amirault family have lived at Le Clos des Quarterons for over 180 years. Certified biodynamic since 2013, the Cabernet Franc vines lie on gentle south-facing slopes, capped to the north by a forest offering shelter from the cold winds. The wines of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil have protected Designation of Origin status and the entire product area lies within the village of the same name.
