Blakcurrant and cranberry

Light black summer fruit
Description
Named after the young partridges often spotted among the wildflowers in the vineyards at Château Grinou, this is a hugely enjoyable red Vin de France from the south-west, similar in style to a good Bergerac (its near neighbour) but far more affordable. Ripe plum and black cherry sit at the core, lifted by gentle notes of herbs and spice, with soft tannins giving shape without weight or hardness, and an excellent length of flavour that belies its modest price tag.
About the Estate
The vines of Château Grinou are centred around the small village of Monestier where vines have been planted since the Middle Ages (1053). With efforts from Gabriel and Julien, the new generation at Grinou, they hope this historical area will have a long and fruitful future too. The sons have already helped turn the whole estate to organic production back in 2009, and are now adopting a new strategy in the vineyards and cellar.

An easy drinking, delightful French red

A perfect light Bordeaux: lovely berry notes, not too dry, very quaffable, great with lamb.
