Jasci Montepulciano d’Abruzzo
£12.99
Lovingly sourced by the Jasci family from a number of well-sited plots of vines in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo, this dark, juicy Montepulciano exhibits all the classic hallmarks of this much loved wine style. Ripe, dark autumnal hedgerow fruits mingle with notes of spice and a touch of liquorice. Fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks and cement vats in order to safeguard as much of the pure fruit expression as possible. The tannins are well sculpted, lending an attractive dry edge to the finale, ensuring that the wine is appreciated at its best when served at table with traditional Italian cuisine. The Jasci family themselves suggest drinking it with a plate of potato gnocchi or pasta with beans.
Taste
Cinnamon and vanilla, Succulent black cherry
Aroma
Black cherry, Violets and sweet spice

Authentic
This has a wildness to it that reminds me of the proper wines you get in restaurants in Italy. Much nicer than the fruit juice of supermarket wines.

Enjoyably rustic
Good bit of flavour in this one, very Italian. Good quality

A fairly full but not over bearing body, with a layered taste and long finish. Tastes of blackcurrant, smokey, leather, needs decanting and changes on days 2&3. A nose of friuty rich berries. Relatively low alcohol of 13%
