Good, Better, Best Rhône Reds

With Grenache as the main focus, the Rhône Valley is known for its warm and rich reds, so what better time of year for this case containing 2x bottles each from Maison Plantevin, Château Rochecolombe and Camille Cayran in the Southern Rhône. All about pure fruit enjoyment, the ‘Good’ starts with Maison Plantevin’s Côtes du Rhône, a longstanding customer favorite and the most easy drinking of the three. The ‘Better’ here is Château Rochecolombe’s old vine Côtes du Rhône Villages, a 2x gold medal winner from the more strictly controlled Côtes du Rhône Villages area. The ‘Best’ (perhaps?!) is two bottles of Camille Cayran’s AOC Gigondas, considered by many to be as good as the most famous reds from Chateauneuf-du-Pape just south. ‘Good, Better, Best’ – you’ll have to try for yourself and see!
