Domaine Bousquet Reserve Malbec
£15.50
A deliciously drinkable modern Malbec that’s loved by critics the world over. Aged for ten months in solely French oak (rather than a combination of American and French), which is generally accepted to deliver more finesse and subtle flavouring and this works well in this wine. Deep purple in colour (which Malbec is known for) with flavours of bright red berries and ground mushrooms on the nose and silky notes of prune, spice and chocolate. This is a fantastically intense Malbec you can’t help but savour and enjoy, on repeat!
- 91 Points, James Suckling (2022 vintage)
- 92 Points, Decanter (2022 vintage)
- 92 Points, Tim Atkin MW (2021 vintage)
- 91 Points, Decanter, ‘Brisk, clean, ripe plum fruit with judicious wood use. Lovely firm frame of tannin and mellow acidity supporting the characterful fruit.’ (2019 vintage)
- Silver Medal, Decanter World Wine Awards 2019 (2018 vintage)
- 92 Points, Tim Atkin MW (2018 vintage)

Smooth
A full-mouthed complement to game pie eaten by a roaring Christmas fire before going back out to inspect the estate with Brian Aldridge.
