Description
Product Code: EFD07
A powerful liquorice-scented red. Spicy Syrah delivers abundant fruits and a weighty palate that carries the flavour for what seems like an eternity. Will age magnificently.
- 17.5+/20, Alistair COOPER for Jancis Robinson 2020
‘Tasted blind. Dried fig with blue fruits on the nose and a lavender note. Fine and elegant tannins are well managed and support the red-fruit-laden core. Well-balanced acidity keeps this cool and refreshing. Delicious!’ (Alistair Cooper) 17+ points (2019 vintage) - Gold Medal, Gilbert & Gaillard Wine Guide 2015
- 92 Points, RobertParker.com, ‘a blockbuster in the vintage that should be snatched up by readers. Made from 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, this ripe, sexy and sweetly fruited beauty is loaded with notions of blackberries, plums, garrigue and crushed flowers. Mouth-filling, unctuous and textured, it will have 10-12 years of longevity.‘ Jeb Dunnuck, December 2016 (2015 vintage)
- 16.5+/20, Jancis Robinson MW, ‘Racy and very sweet fruit but with good, well-integrated acidity. Fine tannins. Proper wine.‘ JancisRobinson.com, November 2016 (2015 vintage)
- **** Four Stars, DrinkRhone.com, ‘The nose has a quiet depth, is understated but provocative. There is a sweet air of mulberry, plum fruit with charm and detail. The shape is rounded. The palate glides well on a smooth texture and plum fruits that pick up spice. The finish is steady, with a little puckered tannin and its powder there. This is a genuine, unhurried Vacqueyras to drink with lamb in rosemary. Its juice is fine, more so than most this year. It’s a Thinker’s wine, not so much for the Whizzo Action brigade.’ John Livingstone-Learmonth, April 2017 (2015 vintage)
- 89/100, Andreas Larsson, ‘Sweet and ripe nose of cassis, plum and red berries with some garrigue and lavender. The palate has good weight and density, ripe but young tannin, vital acidity and layers of spicy fruit on the finish. Good persistency and potential.‘ BlindTasted.com, September 2016 (2015 vintage)
