Mas de Longchamp
The Benoît family own three Provençal wine estates in total - Domaine de Costebonne with 30 hectares of vines at Eygalières, Mas de Longchamp with 24 hectares at Mollégès near Saint-Rémy and Domaine du Val de L'Oule with 13 hectares at Orgon. Five generations of accumulated knowledge is maximised in the quest for producing wines that really do reflect their origins. Authenticity and quality are the key drivers for Fabrice Benoît and his family. Working with nature rather than against it is a central pillar of their life and work credo. The vines have been certified organic since 1998. It is in the cellar at Mas de Longchamp that all wines from the three estates are vinified, all the time respecting the best of quality traditions. Surrounded by picturesque Provençal countryside with views towards the peaks of the Massif des Alpilles, the vines thrive in harmony with the olive trees and Mediterranean scrubland rich with aromatic wild herbs. The soils are a mixture of clay and chalk with parcels where they are more stony - all ideal for growing vines. Grape varieties across all three estates include Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Caladoc (a crossing between Grenache and Malbec), all of which thrive in the sunny, dry climate.
