IGT Benaco Bresciano Riesling
More of a rarity from this area, but irresistible to us as the wine is so good! Classic sherbert and grapefruit aromas with expansive riper goosberry and kiwi flavours on the palate. Super clean, very expressive and will just get better with age.
89 Points - Tom Cannavan, 'Highly unusual, this is a Riesling from the shores of Lake Garda at Lugana. It's a wonderfully pure, clear and fresh expression of Riesling, yet so different from, for example, a typical Clare Valley style. Though this too is dry and super-crisp, it somehow has weight and texture to its apple and lemony fruit, a certain amount of fat on the mid palate and the acidity balanced but not too austere. A really interesting wine, and delicious too.' Wine-Pages.com, November 2015 (2014 vintage)
The Pratello winery is situated up in the hills next to Lake Garda on the Brescia side. It has over 140 hectares of land which 66 hectares are vineyards. The area is very hilly and because of this part of the holding is reserved for natural forest, the remaining hectares are cultivated, with great respect for the environment, with cereals. The experience of Vincenzo Bertola and the tradition of Dante Bertola mixed together with the expertise of the agronomist Paolo Di Francesco, is creating wonderfully unique products from these areas.
