Stunning Italian fizz, produced in very limited quantity.
Notes of dried fruit and jam. On the palate, it is soft and fresh. Adapted to every combination, ideal with introductory dishes, fish, white meats and cheeses.
'A handsome Pinot Nero with 36 months on its lees. Although there's plenty of richness from the dark red fruit and earthy layers, it's still hugely refreshing.' 17/20 - 90 Points, Jane Parkinson in Decanter Magazine, February 2014 (2009 vintage)
16.5 points - JancisRobinson.com, Walter Speller August 2013 (2009 vintage)
Commended - International Wine Challenge 2013 (2009 vintage)
'Intense, fruit driven nose of strawberries and Mediterranean herbs. Rich palate with an abundance of red apples' Bronze Medal - Decanter World Wine Awards 2013 (2009 vintage)
Barone Pizzini is one of the oldest and best-known wineries in the tiny Franciacorta region in northern Italy, near Milano. In early 2000 Barone Pizzini extended its work beyond Franciacorta's borders into some of Italy's finest wine districts with their indigenous grapes: in the Maremma with Poderi di Ghiaccioforte, in Salento with Tenuta del Barco and in the heart of Castelli di Jesi with Pievalta. All Barone Pizzini vineyards, whether in Franciacorta, Tuscany, the Marches or Apulia, are cultivated with organic growing methods, adopted as guarantees of quality, typical characteristics and healthiness. Named as one of the Top 3 Franciacorta producers in Christie's World Encyclopedia of Champagne & Sparkling Wine
