Vintage Roots Festive Tasting 2012

Vintage Roots

Top picks from our Festive Tasting day

It wasn’t the best news, as we were driving over to the Henley River & Rowing museum last Friday 23rd November to prepare for the Saturday tasting. Due to a fallen tree, and a few other ‘wobbly’ large trees, one whole side of the museum building had been closed (including our regular tasting room), and we had to use another space in a connected part of the building, across the yard. As Steve said ‘The show must go on!’, and it did. We made a new plan and re-arranged the room to fit everything in and make it flow.

On Saturday itself, although the weather got steadily worse we enjoyed seeing lots of our regular visitors, and numerous first time tasters too. In fact the wind and rain outside helped keep folk in for longer, thoroughly tasting and testing all the organic wines, beers, liqueurs and cheese on show!

As usual all the bin-end and label damaged wines were snapped up by the early bargain hunters.
