The Big Christmas Selection

Our Big Christmas Selection includes a wine for every occasion and pretty much every taste preference too! A treasure trove of organic delights, starting off with two bottles of fizz of course – Albet i Noya’s Petit Albet Brut, a generously fruity Cava style sparkler produced using the Champagne method, along with Giol’s lightly sparkling Perla Frizzante, an ideal aperitif wine. For the three whites there’s a bottle of Emiliana’s Gewurztraminer, a terrific food wine with pleasant aromatics, along with one of our best-selling Sauvignon Blancs from Marlborough and Vina Ijalba’s superb Riojan Genoli Blanco, a long-term favourite and one of their best-selling wines. For the only rose, it’s a bottle Paul Mas’ Rose Bio, a pleasing Provence-style rose made from a blend of four grapes grown in the southern French sun. For the six reds you’ll find two standout French bottles – a gold-medal winning Beaujolais made from 60-year vines along with a beautiful Grenache that’s all about fruit intensity and soft drinking appeal. Also two from Spain, a juicy Garnacha Tintorera from Bodegas Piqueras with silky hints of ripe berries and vanilla along with a bottle of Bobal Merlot also filled with ripe berried richness and subtle tasty smoke. Last but not least, a bottle of Stellar’s deliciously fruity no sulphur Shiraz and the abundantly juicy Oynos Vino Rosso, a new Sicilian red that wowed us all at our recent in-house tasting.
