Sylvain Loichet Ladoix 'Bois de Grechons'
Ladoix in the Côte de Beaune, is sometimes underestimated, but it lies close to, and overlaps part of the famous hill of Corton. Hand harvested Charonnay is barrel fermented naturally, racked and filtered after nine months. One smell of this bright straw coloured nectar tells you it is classy, poised Burgundy with its peachy and buttery fruit, perfectly offset with lemony and flinty notes. Layered and slightly opulent, this will age well for 6-8 years.
Based in the heart of Burgundy in Chorey-les-Beaune. Sylvain took over the 3.5 hectare domaine from his grandparents in 2005, and switched it to organic shortly after. His youth, energy and passion is evident in the fruit driven, classic style Burgundy wines he produces, which are amongst some of the best we have ever come across.
