Sedlescombe Vineyard- 2010

Biodynamic and Gold Medal winner at the International Organic Wine Awards 2014 and our first ever Rosé English sparkling wine. Lovely bright and intense rosehip colour with a steady fine stream of bubbles. On the nose 36 months of lees ageing is evident with aromas of toast and yeast, which are balanced by subtle fruit aromas of quince and blackcurrant leaf. The fruity nose continues onto the palate, where the initial explosion of mousse is followed up by the sweetness stone fruits and balanced with the good acidity of crab apples. The finish is long, and well structured. 75% Regent, 20% Pinot Noir and 5% Blauberger

Sedlescombe Vineyard

In 1974, Roy Cook inherited 4 hectares of land near Sedlescombe, East Sussex. He began a new life, setting out to grow sufficient organic food to feed himself plus a surplus that could be turned into cash to meet his other needs. As with many dreams of this kind, the lifestyle proved very hard… Necessity, being as always the mother of invention, Roy set out to utilise his land in other ways. ‘The land I owned was on a south-facing slope, exposed to the sun and I had all the right conditions for growing vines.’
