Chances are, you won't of heard of this grape variety 'Egiodola' (a cross between Abourriou and Fer Servadour). Well suited to organic farming because of its strong resistance to disease, it's also a variety rich in polyphenols (for the blood). Over the years, the winemaking at Brau has learnt how to best treat this interesting variety, which in the past has been overly tannic. We urge you to don your vinous anorak and try this deliciously fleshy, plum scented red, that will pleasantly surprise you.

Domaine de Brau

Organic since 1989, with appproximately 40 hectares of vineyards planted on a range of loam, chalk, marl and sandstone soils, Gabriel and Wenny are able to plant their vines in the soil that suits each of the grapes best. Blessed with the Languedoc’s predictable sunshine, they also benefit from the cooling sea breezes. A perfect combination for any vine to thrive in!

Customer Reviews

Egiodola? Review by Liepo
Not a grape that i'd heard of before but glad I gave it a go. Very fresh with some good fruit and a nice smooth finish. (Posted on 23/03/2017)
Not 'fruity' enough for me! Review by Mary
Fruity on first sip but the astringency from the tannins leads to a dry feeling in the mouth - I like my red wines to be silky smooth and fruity. (Posted on 08/02/2017)
