A welcome addition to our wines from this organic and carbon neutral estate. Grown in Maipo on great terroir (a dried up river bed), which is sometimes referred to as the best Cabernet Sauvignon. This modern example is all about the fresh, vibrant blackberry and blackcurrant expression.

The Nuevo Mundo range of organic wines is crafted by the progressive, exciting De Martino wine company. Originally founded back in 1934, they were the first Chilean winery to export Carmenere, and indeed to register the grape variety back in 1996. The company has quickly built up a reputation for high quality organic viticulture, farming a mosaic of vineyards in a number of excellent terroirs. Wines of great purity, with a real sense of place and balance, are the consequence of sustainable agriculture and traditional fermentation techniques. The fourth generation headed by Marco Antonio and Sebastián De Martino, along with their team, continue with their constant serach for exciting terroirs and to polish their house style.

The Nuevo Mundo wines are sourced from vines grown on a dry river bed in the Maipo valley. The proximity to the coast means that refreshing sea breezes regularly blow across the vines. Organic, terroir driven and carbon neutral, all are wines are of high quality, delivering elegance and finesse. The over-arching aim for the winery is to implement the most environmentally friendly practices possible from vineyard to consumer. In fact, Nuevo Mundo represents the first Carbon Neutral & organic wine in South America. The journey to full organic accreditation was started in 1998 and was completed in 2001 with full certification from German company BCS.

The red Nuevo Mundo wines are partially aged in French oak barrels to bring an added dimension of flavour and to allow the tannins to mellow  , whilst the Sauvignon Blanc is fermented in stainless steel tanks in order to capture as much of nature's pure bright fresh flavour as possible.
