A superlative mix of No Sulphur Added red wines, giving pure drinking pleasure from six different countries. Over recent years Vintage Roots has specialised somewhat in hunting out the best NS (No Sulphur Added) organic wines from around the world. Red NS wines are by far more popular and numerous, as they are slightly easier to produce without sulphur (the tannins in the red grape skins helps preserve naturally, along with the slightly higher alcohol levels), and are thought to have some additional health benefits also. You’ll find real vinous excitement in this selection, from the lighter Spanish Tempranillo and Italian Merlot, right up to the bigger, richer and more complex ‘Mas De Tannes’ from southern France and the ‘Virgen Red Blend’ from Bousquet in Argentina. Take note of the incredible natural red, garnet and purple colours of the wines which is due to the absence of sulphur (which bleaches colour). These wines can really benefit from letting the air get to them, either by decanting or simply returning to the bottle the following day. If you like flavour, you’ll love these!
