Description

A beautifully different red with wild aromas to partner the excellent white.

A defined, well made red to partner the excellent white. Made from Syrah and Grenache with a little old vine Carignan too, it receives 4-6 months in oak. Beautifully soft, with a wild nose and layers of berry fruits and wild herbs. It takes you straight to Provence!

Made in a natural style with low sulphur, this is a fantastically aromatic wine with lots of earthy, herbal notes.

  1. Versatile Grenache blend

This is a wine that echoes the very soul of the south of France. Deep garnet in colour, the first thing that struck me is the unusual nose of stone fruits (stewed plums, black cherry) and mature hay with a spicy hint of chocolate in the background; just what you would expect from a carefully-considered Grenache blend. Very well-balanced, this one presents low-acidity and its great structure makes for a silky-smooth wash across the palate, fresh but not over-powering. The smooth long finish makes it a great wine for enjoying with family and friends (my wife – a strict ‘one glass per evening’ person asked for a top-up, which is saying something). I’m confident it would accompany a wide range of food such as a nice steak and ale pie or a hearty game casserole. One of the most rewarding wines I’ve tasted this year. Rating: 4 – 4.5*
