Colchagua Valley, Chile
Las Niñas- 2014
A classic Rhône blend from the "Cru" of Chile in Colchagua's, Apalta. The dark, spicy Syrah blended to perfection with the fruit forward Mourvèdre delivering robust flavours but with abundant blueberry elegance.

Las Niñas

In 1996, Bernard Dauré persuaded his friends, Jean Pierre Cayard and Claude Florensa to embark on a crazy idea, to join him in creating a wine estate at Apalta in Chile. The girls (Las Ninas) from the three families soon fell in love with the land, in the Colchagua Valley, which is only a two hour drive south of Santiago, the country’s capital. Over three years they planted 160 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Syrah, Mourvèdre and other varieties. A purpose built modern winery has been built to satisfy the increasing demand for their wines around the world. The feminine touch is abundantly evident in their silky smooth fruit driven red wines and Apalta is considered the jewel in the crown of the Colchagua Valley lying at the foothills of the Andes.
