The Kuyen blend is aged for one year in French oak barrels, then bottled and aged an additional six months in the cellar prior to release. A blend of 57% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Carmenere, 2% Petit Verdot, this second wine to the icon “Antiyal” excels year after year. Cherry and plum aromas are racy, with distinct minerality. Flavours of chocolate, leafy spice, earth and berry fruits finish with a final blast of vital berry flavours before fading into a long and pleasurable finish.
- The Wine Merchant Top 100 – ‘Chilean boutique producer Antiyal was founded by the biodynamic true believe Alvaro Espinoza and his family in 1996. For this impressive red blend, the fruit is sourced from the family’s vineyards in Helquen, in the foothills of the Maipo Alto, to make a wine that “is totally sellable to the posh BBQ/dinner party crowd. A big hit of ripe New World fruit, silky tannins, everything in balance, classy but with big enough flavours to be a big-hitter – it would be very hard not to like it.”‘ July 2016 (2013 vintage)
