Chateau de Lascaux

A wonderful estate situated in a wild and immense garrigue forest, in Languedoc between Montpellier and Nimes, in the foothills of the Cévennes. It's here that Jean-Benoit Cavalier (a 14th generation winemaker!) took over the family estate in 1984, expanded and improved it. Being a keen environmentalist, the switch to organic and biodynamic farming practices was a natural step in 2006. As a keen promoter of biodiversity, the local goat and cattle herds are allowed to graze the vineyards! The wines are wonderfully expressive and elegant.
