From Syrah 60%, Grenache 30% and Mourvedre 10%, planted on garrigue soil, on the edge of the Pic Saint loup area. Surrounded by Aleppo pines and green oak trees, the wine shows vibrant, appealing fruits on both nose and palate, including cherry, blackberry and deeper framboise. Tannins are smooth yet firm, making this a perfect match for 'terroir' food.
Chateau de Lascaux
|A wonderful estate situated in a wild and immense garrigue forest, in Languedoc between Montpellier and Nimes, in the foothills of the Cévennes. It's here that Jean-Benoit Cavalier (a 14th generation winemaker!) took over the family estate in 1984, expanded and improved it. Being a keen environmentalist, the switch to organic and biodynamic farming practices was a natural step in 2006. As a keen promoter of biodiversity, the local goat and cattle herds are allowed to graze the vineyards! The wines are wonderfully expressive and elegant.|
