Stefano Lubiana Estate Pinot Noir
The estate Pinot Noir is intensely aromatic and flavoursome with an attractice melange of red and black cherry aromas, suggesting summer fruit pudding with hints of rose petal fragrance. A rich, concentrated palate that is deeply flavoured with cherry characters supported by hazlenut overtones derived from oak maturation. Medium firm tannins and a vibrant natural acidity. The palate is flooded with flavour, giving the wine great persistence and majesty. An iron fist in a velvet glove. The bold fruit concentration and great natural acidity indicates long ageing potential. This s the flagship wine from the Lubiana estate.
Exciting Biodynamic wines from Tasmania, which we are delighted and privileged to be able list. Beginning in 1987 when Steve met Monique after interning in Champagne and deciding that he really wanted to make sparkling wine in the coolest region of Australia. They decided to move to Tasmania and in 1990 they found the perfect property, took a risk and put all their cash on the line and started a hard journey. Super happy and nearly 30 years later they have weathered the good and the bad and have achieved so much with many helping hands. The 25Ha vineyard was converted to Biodynamics in 2010 with certification achieved in 2013. Biodynamics provides protection for their environment, employees and customers from chemicals, and as a bonus it makes a better wine.
Their ethos is fairly straight forward - "we are focused entirely on upon producing small quantities of handcrafted biodynamic wines from grapes to glass in our cool maritime climate"
