Domaine de Brau 'Pure' Viognier
Pure in every organic way, and one of a collection of single varietal wines from this Languedoc estate. Aromas are generously floral and of peach and honeysuckle in particular. The palate is dense with notes of lanolin and honey, and lots of attractive yellow plum and other ripe stone fruits. Made in limited quantities, the domaine now has to ration out its production each year. Great to see this famiy run estate so committed to organics, doing so well. It is a substantial white wine to enjoy slowly in your favourite wine glasses, to help release all those heady aromas. Due to the wines richness and body, it would partner chicken tagine, creamy curries and rich shellfish dishes very well.
Domaine de Brau
Organic since 1989, with appproximately 40 hectares of vineyards planted on a range of loam, chalk, marl and sandstone soils, Gabriel and Wenny are able to plant their vines in the soil that suits each of the grapes best. Blessed with the Languedoc’s predictable sunshine, they also benefit from the cooling sea breezes. A perfect combination for any vine to thrive in!
