For one of the best wines Bordeaux can offer, look no further than this one! With an immense palate, highly concentrated notes of cassis, and firm, ripe tannins, this wine is the ideal vintage to show off class and elegance. You'll love the hint of clove in the aftertaste, as well as the notes of blackberry, cedar, forest floor, and licorice. There's even touch of incense in this opulent wine, which only tastes better the longer it is allowed to age. This biodynamic Bordeaux with its intense fruit character is the perfect wine to go with venison.
90-92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 'Always one of my favorite Cotes de Castillons, this 35 acre vineyard is planted primarily on limestone soils. A blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2010 was cropped at 24 hectoliters per hectare, and attained 14.5% natural alcohol. Abundant Rhone-like notes of black raspberry, licorice, garrigue and lavender emerge in the aromatics, but in the mouth, the wine is pure Bordeaux in its rich black currant and black raspberry-like fruit intermixed with subtle oak in the background. This impressively full, rich effort is capable of lasting 7-10 years.' May 2011 (2010 vintage)
**** 4 Stars Decanter Magazine, 'This Merlot-dominated (70%) blend has a velvet texture and smooth, silky tannins. Cassis and black cherry notes with a bright freshness. Definitely one for lovers of elegant, traditional clarets.' June 2015 (2010 vintage)
Bordeaux Rive Droite - Clos Puy Arnaud
Top quality Castillon estate which neighbours Saint Émilion and more importantly enjoys the same limestone plateau of soil. Former jazz musician and owner Thierry Valette farms his 15 hectares organically and biodynamically, allowing the wines to shine with original fruit expression that is pure in every sense.
