Stefano Lubiana Primavera Chardonnay
The popular Primavera Chardonnay is sourced entirely from the Lubiana certified biodynamic vineyard above the river - reflecting the seasonality of Tasmania's beautiful Derwent Valley. The wine's palate is restrained and well structured, combining juicy acidity and fine oak tannins with some lovely lemony/nectarine fruit. Its time on lees (expired yeasts cells) has not only added complexity to the range of aromas and flavours, but also given extra weight to the palate which means that it can be enjoyed with some quite substantial food dishes.
Exciting Biodynamic wines from Tasmania, which we are delighted and privileged to be able list. Beginning in 1987 when Steve met Monique after interning in Champagne and deciding that he really wanted to make sparkling wine in the coolest region of Australia. They decided to move to Tasmania and in 1990 they found the perfect property, took a risk and put all their cash on the line and started a hard journey. Super happy and nearly 30 years later they have weathered the good and the bad and have achieved so much with many helping hands. The 25Ha vineyard was converted to Biodynamics in 2010 with certification achieved in 2013. Biodynamics provides protection for their environment, employees and customers from chemicals, and as a bonus it makes a better wine.
Their ethos is fairly straight forward - "we are focused entirely on upon producing small quantities of handcrafted biodynamic wines from grapes to glass in our cool maritime climate"
