Stefano Lubiana Riesling
This wine provides living proof of Riesling's chameleon-like behaviour when it is grown and made in different conditions - soils, aspect and climate. Right now, it has tremendous youth and vibrancy, and a certain vigour that propels the wine's varietal characters of citrus and green apple right out of the glass and onto the palate. If you are able to resist it now, it will continue to develop over the next decade, with the wax and petroleum character becoming more pronounced.
Exciting Biodynamic wines from Tasmania, which we are delighted and privileged to be able list. Beginning in 1987 when Steve met Monique after interning in Champagne and deciding that he really wanted to make sparkling wine in the coolest region of Australia. They decided to move to Tasmania and in 1990 they found the perfect property, took a risk and put all their cash on the line and started a hard journey. Super happy and nearly 30 years later they have weathered the good and the bad and have achieved so much with many helping hands. The 25Ha vineyard was converted to Biodynamics in 2010 with certification achieved in 2013. Biodynamics provides protection for their environment, employees and customers from chemicals, and as a bonus it makes a better wine.
Their ethos is fairly straight forward - "we are focused entirely on upon producing small quantities of handcrafted biodynamic wines from grapes to glass in our cool maritime climate"
