Organic Cabernet Sauvignon Wines

Cabernet Sauvignon is a name recognised all over the world, thanks to the fact that it’s one of the most widely-grown grapes. It is found in nearly every wine-producing country, because it can grow in nearly every climate. Cabernet Sauvignon became successful in Bordeaux first, where it is usually blended with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and other varieties of wine.

This model of blending Cabernet has also been adopted around the world. Until 1990, it was the most widely-planted of the premium red wine grapes in the world–now surpassed by Merlot.

The grapes tend to produce high-tannin, full-bodied wines with high acidity, making a wine that improves with age. The flavours of Cabernet Sauvignon wine produced in cooler climates include blackcurrant, pepper, cedar, and mint. Milder climates produce wines with black olive, black cherry, and blackcurrant notes, while hotter climates produce flavours that can border on “jammy” or and have a hint of sweetness.
