Description
Breva means “fruit of the first harvest”. Hand picked and fermented in egg shaped cement tanks using natural yeasts and bottled slightly cloudy. This natural style Aregentenian Sauvignon Blanc is wild, savoury and complex, with salty intensity, creamy lees, bracing lemony acidity and wonderful weight and texture.
“The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Breva from Ugarteche, Luján de Cuyo, combines maceration in concrete eggs with aging in Austrian barrels. Cloudy yellow with a greenish sheen. The nose offers aromas of lime, herbs and grapefruit leavened by yeast and subtle oaky notes. Malic in the mouth with a terse texture due to the oak and lees, it’s dry with heightened freshness and a lengthy finish in which the nose makes a return, especially the flavors from the aging process, which linger at their leisure. The alcohol (13.5%) indicates when it was harvested and the intended style.” 91 points – Stephen Tanzer

Three close friends from Europe have joined forces to establish this biodynamic winery, to produce exceptional wines. From what we saw and tasted, earlier this year on our South American visit, they have certainly achieved that with help from top Chilean winemaker Alvaro Espinoza. We highly recommend these special wines to you.
