The California Chardonnay is tropical and fruity, but with just enough creamy oak to be assertive without overpowering your palate. The big-style wine is ideal for anyone, with the lemon zesty flavour blending beautifully with notes of green apples, citrus, and pears. It has a few hints of almonds (toasted lightly) and honey, and just enough pineapple to arouse your interest. It's minerality is both clean and bright, with an aftertaste of crème brulee.
Bonterra are one of the biggest names in organic winemaking. Their farming practices are ‘back to the future’: composting, cover crops, and natural cycles create a soil that is rich and vital, from which grow naturally healthy vines and intensely concentrated, flavourful grapes. Bob Blue, winemaker at Bonterra was recently quoted as saying 'The organic system is a food system that more and more people have come to trust. I can remember in my earlier days seeing a skull and crossbones sign by one vineyard, saying “Don’t go into this vineyard for 30 days”!'
