The Côtes de Francs region itself adjoins the St Emilion satellite appellations of Puisseguin and Lussac, and the style of the wine is not dissimilar. 100% Merlot grown on a combination of clay and gravel soils from 5 hectares. The average age of the vines are 30 yrs and this is a super soft classic Bordeaux with just the right amount of bottle age. A graphite and pencil shaving aroma with round and soft plum fruit flavours. It over-delivers for the price.
We are unable to get any more stock of this wine so it is now delisted to clear.
After a period of crisis many years ago when the property was sold and divided Château Cru Godard today is owned by Franck Richard and his wife Carine who meticulously tend their 50 hectare estate which lies in close proximity to the St. Emilion region. Here the Merlot grape thrives on the clay and gravel soils creating soft, fruity and immediately drinkable reds. Certified organic from the 2010 vintage and a great new addition to our Bordeaux family of wines.
