AOC Cru La Liviniere Minervois Hemp House Syrah

AOC Cru La Liviniere Minervois Hemp House Syrah

Languedoc-Roussillon, France
Robert Eden - 2011/13
Product Code: EFB60
Size: 75cl
Alcohol: 14.5%
This is a blend of 85% Syrah and 15% Grenache grown on hard and soft limestone and alluvial soils. Vinification happens in a mix of concrete and conical oak foudre and it is aged for 12 months, in 30% new oak and the rest in two and three years barrels. The nose is ripe black fruits (blackcurrants, elderberries) notes alongside more spicy characteristics (pepper, herbs). The palate is very attractive with firm yet silky tannins. Aromatic, spicy with a fabulously generous weight. This wine has real impact, so you best be ready for it …once opened !

Lovely Review by DeePeeDee
Lovely warming red (Posted on 03/06/2016)
Badly-made wine Review by Black Hands
Hot, harsh and reductive - afraid this wine has no redeeming features whatsoever and would appear to be more about marketing than winegrowing. I frankly couldn't care less if his winery is made out of hemp - it is what is in the bottle that counts, not the label on it. Very disappointing. (Posted on 07/12/2015)
