The Loire Valley is famous for its top-quality Cabernet Franc wines, and this example from Caves Plouzeau lives up to the high standard. With its floral aromas and rich flavour of black cherry, it's a unique style that pairs beautifully with a wide assortment of foods--and stands alone just as well. There are hints of redcurrants and morello cherries there’s a lot of ripeness and flavour, but it retains the fresh leafiness of Cabernet Franc. One of the best wines to pair with the classic dish "Coq au Vin".

The Château de la Bonnelière, the property of the Plouzeau familly 1846, is in the commune of la Roche Clermault, just to the south of Chinon. The vines are planted on the upper slopes of the left bank of the Vienne river in chalky clay soil with an ideal aspect.
