Description

Waxy notes and with complex baked apple flavours and a youthful fruit exhuberance.

Domaine Amirault Clos des Quarterons is a winery straddling the Anjou and Touraine regions of France’s Loire Valley. The Amirault family has been making wine here since the 1830s. Now under the sixth generation: Agnés, Xavier and Thierry. Certified Biodynamic, this 100% Chenin Blanc is hand harvested and is aged on the lees for 9 to 12 months: 50% in 500l oak barrels & 50% in amphora. Abundant quince and apple flavours with a rich mineral palate and with just a touch of complex smokiness.

Taste

Baked green apple, melon and ripe peaches

Aroma

Citrus, stone and mineral

The Amirault family have lived at Le Clos des Quarterons for over 180 years. Certified biodynamic since 2013, the Cabernet Franc vines lie on gentle south-facing slopes, capped to the north by a forest offering shelter from the cold winds. The wines of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil have protected Designation of Origin status and the entire product area lies within the village of the same name.
