Albet i Noya DO Penedès Finca La Milana
All the grapes for this wine are sourced from Albet I Noya’s new vineyard at Can Milà. 35% Merlot, 35% Tempranillo, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Caladoc are blended and then aged for 13 months in French oak, producing a very soft, ripe and concentrated wine, which will continue to improve for the up to 7-8 years. Has already won Gold in international competition, we're confident this will have plenty of fans.
Gold Medal - Mundus Vini 2014 (2009 vintage)
'Gamey, animal notes on the nose, but surprisingly sweet, pure fruit flavours. Unique and thought-provoking.' Bronze - Decanter World Wine Awards 2013 (2007 vintage)
Albet i Noya
In 1978, Josep Maria Albet i Noya became the first winemaker in Spain to adopt organic practices in the vineyard, eliminating the use of chemical and synthetic insecticides and pesticides. Returning to more traditional methods, the balance of the vines is maintained using only permitted green, organic and composted fertilisers, resulting in healthy grapes of ‘true’ character.
