VDP d'Oc Sauvignon Blanc Sur Lie Domaine St. Paul / Organic White Wines
Domaine St. Paul - 2009/2010
Unbeatable with steamed mussels and darn fine any other time too!
That this wine is made 'sûr lie' tells you that the wine has spent time ageing 'on the lees'. Lees are bits of grape skin, pulp, stalk and other bits and pieces that might sound a bit icky to you and me but which impart extra flavour and complexity to the wine. So, this is Sauvignon Blanc with extra dimension! It's got a tad more green citrus fruit than usual and some yeasty notes too.
