Pievalta Verdicchio Superiore / Organic White Wines
Stunning new wine for us this year; stylish, slightly nutty citrus fruits
Tired of oaky whites? Looking for something other than Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc? Look no further than this stylish Verdicchio from the east coast of central Italy. Striking citrus fruits with the attractive nutty flavours for which this grape is rightly famous. Steely dry this wine will simply sing with simply grilled fish.
"Fine example of modern Italian white, boasting a variety of flavours in subtle nuance rather than hurling them in your face. This is quite lush, waxy, yet reserved, suggesting flavours of peppercorn, beeswax, leather and syrupy apple purée – just suggesting, mind you, nothing too flash." Oz Clarke 250 Best Wines 2012
