IGT Veneto Raboso Giol / Organic Sparkling Wines
Az. Agr. Cantine Giol - 2009
Deliciously different! A dark-fruited sparkler that's great with food
Raboso is a grape variety found in the Pieve district of northern Italy and here it is made into this delightful and quite different sparkling red wine. The wine is fermented on the skins and this is what gives the wine it's rich colour and pretty intense red fruit flavours - think raspberries and black cherries. It's also got a bit of tannin structure too (common to red wines) which makes it a particularly good food choice. On the winemaker's recommendation, serve it at 12°C with your favourite pizza. Cheers!
