Dà Mhìle Blended Whisky / Organic Spirits
Exceedingly high-quality blended whisky.
Jim Murray - Tasting notes
Nose: The grain is typically Loch Lomondish in its embracing style, wrapping soft arms around the flintier, more energetic malt; not exactly perfect harmony, but an endearing overture nonetheless.
Taste: Now the blend comes together with the malt - sharp, mouthwatering, grassy and fresh - battling for independence from the enveloping grain but failing. Lots of complexity and character.
Finish: Waves of soft vanilla and spice sit comfortably with the enduring malt.
Balance: A delicious blend against the odds; the grain and malt being mixed together from what was available from an organic point of view and makes for a light, singular but highly attractive style. By no means perfect, but it worked well - perhaps by the liberal use of Springbank making this probably the only blend made from organic Springbank malt you are ever likely to come across.
