DO Ribera del Duero Domino Basconcillos Roble / Organic Red Wines
Basconcillos - 2006
Perfectly balanced, liquorice coated autumnal fruits. Fantastic
A dense, flavour-packed red with intense liquorice and black autumnal fruits on the nose and palate. The key grape variety here is Tinto Fino, which is a variant of Rioja's Tempranillo. There are many similarities but there's no question that the Ribera version gives a much darker colour in the glass and firmer flavours. I wouldn't say no to a glass with a few herb-coated, quickly grilled, lamb cutlets.
