Everybody loves this multi-award winning Chilean blockbuster. A treat!
The Coyam is a wine that's synonymous with quality and is close to claiming iconic status. It's a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenère, Syrah and Mourvèdre. There's an unbelievable depth and breadth of flavour to this wine which unravels generously on the palate. Tannins are well-placed and give the wine the structure it needs. Very enjoyable now this wine will continue to develop in bottle over the coming three years or so. Serve with a nice juicy steak. (IWC Gold 2006 Vintage).
"A superb organic blend of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenère, Syrah and Mourvèdre from the charismatic Alvaro Espinoza, this deeply coloured red displays perfumed, blackberry and dark cherry aromas behind a ripe blackberry fruit opulence framed by sweet and spicy oak; it's powerful alright but has the freshness to balance that power." 91/100 The Wine Gang - April 2011
14.5% ABV
The most prominent organic and biodynamic estate in Chile, the vineyards of Emiliana Orgánico (formerly VOE) are planted in three of the country's key viticultural valleys: Maipo, Colchagua and Casablanca. The winemaker here is the remarkably talented Alvaro Espinoza. Acacia trees are grown around the vineyard to draw nitrogen from the atmosphere into the soil, and plants are grown to make homeopathic treatments which are subsequently used on the vines.
